Sound familiar?

You love working with botanical processes.
But the results feel unpredictable.

Some prints are strong, others fall flat — and you're not sure why
Colors turn muddy when you try to layer techniques
You can't reproduce a result you loved last session
You're not sure which variable caused the problem
You experiment endlessly but the work doesn't feel coherent

This is not a creativity problem.
It is a structure problem.
Printed Nature was built to solve it.

What Printed Nature is

A structured technical program

You do not learn techniques in isolation. You learn how they connect.

Botanical Monoprinting

Paint behaviour, pressure control, positive and negative space, building layers with intention.

Eco-Printing in Depth

Leaf selection, bundling methods, heat variables, mordanting, clarity and colour control.

Eco-Dyeing

Fabric and paper behaviour, saturation, layering, adjusting and repeating results.

Combining Processes

How to layer monoprinting with eco processes to build coherent botanical surfaces.

You stop hoping for good results.
You start engineering them.

What you leave with

Technical confidence

You understand why each technique behaves the way it does — and how to use that knowledge intentionally.

Consistent, repeatable results

You can reproduce what worked and adjust what didn't. No more guessing between sessions.

A structured workflow

A clear process you can return to, refine, and build on — every time you sit down to work.

A personal library of surfaces

A growing archive of botanical work that reflects your own visual language, built with intention.

The ability to combine techniques

Monoprinting, eco-printing and eco-dyeing working together — not in isolation.

Lifetime access

Return to any module whenever you need it. Revisit, refine, and go deeper at your own pace.

What students say

Printed Nature has got to be the most comprehensive course available on this subject. It is so in depth. Jam packed with exciting content on all aspects of printing with nature.
Elizabeth Lee  ·  Printed Nature Student
Francisca has established a logical structure within Printed Nature. From the first steps to complex projects, everything is explained comprehensively and connections are made clear. The course is worth every cent.
Edelgard Weigt  ·  Printed Nature Student
The price of this class is less than what some artists charge for a limited content class. There is nothing close to the quality you get here. I feel like I elevated myself on so many levels.
Janet Snyder  ·  Printed Nature Student
Once I enrolled, I didn't hesitate for a second. It was the best decision I could have ever made — and absolutely the best course I have ever taken.

Preparation & Inspiration

Set up your workspace, gather materials, and build a clear starting point for the process.

Module 02

Botanical Monoprinting

Paint behaviour, pressure control, positive and negative space, layering.

Module 03

Eco-Printing in Depth

Leaf selection, bundling methods, heat variables, clarity control.

Module 04

Eco-Dyeing Control

Fabric behaviour, layering, saturation, adjusting results with confidence.

Module 05

Combining Processes

Layering monoprinting with eco processes intentionally to build coherent surfaces.

This is a technical progression designed to help you get stronger results with more consistency.

About Francisca

Built from years of teaching and experimentation

Francisca Nunes is a Portuguese mixed media artist and educator working with nature-inspired printing processes.

Printed Nature grew from years of teaching monoprinting, eco-printing and eco-dyeing — and from watching artists struggle not with creativity, but with structure. The program was built to give artists the technical foundation that changes how they work.

The goal has always been the same: help you build clarity, coherence, and confidence in your botanical practice.

Common questions

Do I need previous experience?

No. The program is designed to be accessible whether you are new to printing processes or already familiar with some techniques. What matters most is curiosity and willingness to work slowly and intentionally.

Is this self-paced?

Yes. There are no live sessions and no fixed schedule. You move through the modules at your own pace and return to them as many times as you need.

Do I need a gelli plate?

No. You can use a plastic sheet, plexiglass, or any smooth surface. The goal is learning how to see and vary — not perfect materials.

What if I don't have fresh leaves?

Dry leaves work beautifully. For eco-dyeing we also use simple materials you likely already have at home, such as onion skins and rusted metal pieces.

Will I have lifetime access?

Yes. Once you join, the program is yours permanently. Revisit, refine, and repeat the process whenever you choose.

What is the Community Studio?

The private Francisca Nunes Community Studio is where students implement techniques, share their work, and ask questions — a dedicated space included with your enrolment.

Build Structure.
Build Control.
